EVH Kick-off meeting

The EVH Kick-off Meeting successfully brought together over 160 participants at the Rectorate of the University of Siena, Italy, on May 22–23, 2025. The event gathered representatives from all institutions involved in the EVH project, along with key European and national authorities.

The international event commenced with an opening ceremony featuring welcome addresses from prominent figures, including representatives from the University of Siena, the Italian Health Minister, the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority of the European Commission, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency, and the European Medicines Agency and representatives of the Fondazione Biotecnolpolo di Siena, The Institut Pasteur, Vaccinolpolis and D-ZIF. The first day included insightful presentations on the EVH project structure and a session dedicated to the EVH European partnership.

On the second day, discussions focused on detailed pillar sessions covering novel technology platforms, pre-clinical studies, clinical trials infrastructure, and manufacturing and regulatory affairs. Pillar leads guided the discussion on the 17 interlinked work packages of the EVH project, fostering collaboration and strategic planning. This meeting marked the beginning of a concerted effort towards enhancing Europe's pandemic readiness through innovative vaccine research and development.
